Keeping in mind the number of blockbusters in his kitty, one assumes that Hrithik Roshan can spot a blockbuster script at one glance. Shuddhi: Much has been said and written about Karan Johar’s most-awaited project, Shuddhi. Social media went abuzz with news of Kareena Kapoor and Hrithik Roshan being a part of the project. A number of theories started floating in the media about Hrithik’s sudden exit from the film. While a section of media reported that Hrithik had to opt out because of health reasons, another section revealed that, Hrithik pulled out of the film as he was not happy with the profit-sharing deal between him and filmmaker Karan Johar.
Dil Chahta Hai: Farhan Akhtar originally wrote the movie keeping in mind Hrithik as Sidhharth. After Hrithik turned down the role, it went to Abhishek Bachchan. But Abhishek too turned down the offer. After Abhishek, the role went to Aamir and Farhan Akhtar swapped the roles of Akhay Khanna and Aamir Khan. Hrithik and Farhan later came together in Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara.
Bunty Aur Babli: As per a report in IMDB, Hrithik Roshan was approached for the role of Bunty. Considering his previous release Mujhse Dosti Karoge with Yash Raj Productions, which fell flat at the box office, Hrithik decided to opt out of this movie. The role later went to Abhishek Bachchan. Abhishek was nominated for the Filmfare Award for Best Actor.
Rang De Basanti: Another blockbuster which Hrithik Roshan had turned down was Aamir Khan-starrer Rang De Basanti. But Aamir had already been signed for the project and thus Hrithik backed out.
Swades: Before starring in Ashutosh Gowariker’s Jodha Akbar, Hrithik had been offered the role of ‘Mohan Bhargava’ inSwades. Shah Rukh Khan won a number of awards for his performance in the movie.
