If you think penetrative sex is all you need to make your woman climax, then this new research might prove you wrong. According to a study published by the Journal of Sex & Marital Therapy, around 72 per cent women need clitoral stimulation to orgasm.
A closer look
The study was conducted on 1,055 women within the age group of 18 to 94 years, who answered questions about their sex life through an online survey.
The results were pretty interesting. While 36.6 per cent women needed clitoral stimulation, 36 per cent too needed some pampering down there, whereas 18.4 per cent women confessed that penetrative sex alone was enough to make them orgasm.
The touch that stimulates
Digging further deep, the study also asked questions about the kind of genital stimulation women enjoy. The top favourites included touching in a rhythmic motion, switching between different patterns, playing with high and low intensity motions, and the ones circling around the clitoris.
Apart from clitoral stimulation, women admitted that the orgasms were much better when more time was spent on foreplay and when they were emotionally intimate with their partner. Further, less than one in five women said longer sex is better!
